Welcome back to the 12 Days to Inspire Cybersecurity Culture!

DAY 7: Mobile Device Management.

Mobile devices have become the preferred method of communication over computers because of the ease of portability.

The average employee has at least one personal device they utilize for work. Those devices need to be treated with the same level of security as a company-issued device would.

Mobile Device Management (MDM) is used to regulate and secure employees' portable devices such as phones or tablets. It keeps your business data protected and ensures your company retains control over private information.

> What are the benefits of MDM?

  • Remote Device Access
  • Enhanced Security
  • Remote Wiping – if your device is lost, stolen or compromised, a remote wipe enables you to completely wipe the device from another phone or computer.
  • Compliance – such as HIPAA and other regulations
  • Application Control
  • Device Tracking
  • Automatic Backups
  • Allows for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

MDM is another way to encourage cybersecurity awareness and participation across your entire organization.
