Welcome back to the 12 Days to Inspire Cybersecurity Culture!

DAY 8: Utilizing the Dark Web

The Dark Web is a bad place only criminals go to…. or is it?

The reality: the Dark Web is a great place to go if you are looking for threat intelligence.

Why go to the Dark Web?

  • Protect your brand.
Monitoring whether your organization's name appears on the Dark Web can help you detect potential insider threats. This enables you to prevent data leaks and other incidents that will damage your brand’s reputation.  Don’t forget to keep an eye on the names of your board members and key decision-makers.

  • Stay one step ahead of vulnerabilities!
The Dark Web is where you can go to find out vulnerabilities and security flaws that are not yet public knowledge. Finding information on vulnerabilities and exploits will give you a step ahead and be ready for the patches as soon as they come out.

  • Think like a hacker!
The best way to learn how hackers think is to go where they go. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!? They often trade secrets, access, passwords, and more. Learning how they think will help you develop practices to keep them at bay.
